Membership

A seat at a smaller, warmer table

The SAWL Society is intentionally private. Membership is by application, reviewed personally by Amy and Srinu, so the community stays trusted, generous, and real.

What membership includes

Inside the Society

The private community

A members-only space for honest conversation about marriage, family, culture, and identity — moderated with care and closed to the public.

The journal and resources

Editorial writing, practical guides, and the SAWL Society podcast, curated for couples and families living between cultures.

Gatherings and events

Relationship roundtables, family dinner clubs, expert sessions, and welcome gatherings — in the DMV region and online.

A community that grows with you

Circles, expert guidance, and member programming expand phase by phase, shaped by the founding members themselves.

The Society is being built in careful phases with its founding members. Community spaces, events, and the full journal open to members as each phase launches.

How it works

The application, step by step

  1. 1

    Share your story

A short application — who you are, where you are in your journey, and what you hope to find. About ten minutes, saved automatically as you go.
  2. 2

    A personal review

Every application is read personally. No automated acceptance, no scoring. We may reach out if we would like to learn a little more.
  3. 3

    A warm welcome

Approved members receive their invitation to activate membership and join the community as it grows.

Community expectations

What we ask of members

  • Bring your real story — this is a community, not a feed.
  • Hold what is shared privately in confidence.
  • Meet different traditions and choices with respect.
  • Show up with generosity: your experience may be the guidance another family needs.

Ready when you are

The application takes about ten minutes, and your draft is saved automatically so you can return anytime. There is no fee to apply.
